At Dr. Max Group, care is at the heart of everything we do, and that extends to ensuring our digital platforms are accessible to all. Over the past two years, we've dedicated ourselves to enhancing the e-commerce experience, with a focus on making it more inclusive, particularly for visually impaired customers. Our presentation at the recent FrontKon conference showcased these efforts, setting a new benchmark in e-commerce accessibility. By prioritizing care and accessibility, we reaffirm our commitment to an inclusive digital landscape for all members of our community.
Dr. Max Group showcases Accessibility innovations at FrontKon conference
Ondřej Zmek, a member of our UX/UI team, led the presentation in collaboration with Lukáš Hosnedl, a visually impaired accessibility specialist at the Teiresias Centre of Masaryk University. Their collaboration exemplifies Dr. Max's approach to inclusive design, combining internal expertise with insights from those who directly benefit from improved accessibility. Together, Ondřej and Lukáš shared insights into Dr. Max's journey towards creating more accessible online pharmacies.
The journey began with Dr. Max's fundamental belief in caring for all customers. This philosophy empowered the team to gradually improve the accessibility of our e-commerce platform. Through the dedication of dozens of developers and experts, the current Dr. Max website has become one of the most accessible in the Czech and Slovak markets.
Key to this success has been the implementation of regular annual audits specifically focused on the needs of visually impaired users. These audits, followed by workshops, have helped identify crucial areas for improvement, including the accessibility of forms, modal dialogs, titles, registers, and semantic structures. Ondřej and Lukáš emphasized that improving accessibility is an ongoing process requiring communication, evangelization, patience, and continuous re-testing.
Looking ahead, we at Dr. Max plan to expand our digital accessibility efforts, with plans to implement inclusive design in other markets, as well as enhance the accessibility of our mobile application. This commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in digital inclusion aligns with our promise to always make our services and care accessible to all.
